The BELDON® family proudly announces this year’s BELDON® Family Scholarship Fund. The BELDON® family has remained committed to supporting education since they first created this fund in 2007. The family strives to continue to help make higher education possible for BELDON® Team members, without whom there would be no BELDON® family of companies.

The first scholarship was awarded to Aaron Tabor, the son of Ray Tabor, one of our hardworking employees. We receive many applications each year, from which we choose five hardworking students who must:

  • Be a currently employed associate of BELDON® Enterprises, or be a child or grandchild of a person currently employed by the company;
  • Be a graduate of, or have received a GED from, any high school located in the United States;
  • Be planning to attend any college, university or educational institution (including vocational schools) in the United States;
  • Demonstrate how they and/or their parents (if applicable) will contribute financially to their education;
  • Have demonstrated diligence in his/her studies; and
  • Have demonstrated outstanding citizenship traits.

Aaron met all of our requirements and so much more. Aaron won the BELDON® Family Scholarship nine years in a row. During the three years he spent at Elmhurst College he was awarded three BELDON® Family Scholarships. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in communication studies in 2009.

Aaron wanted to further his education and graduated with a Master’s of Public Health in 2011 from Benedictine University, where he received two more BELDON® Scholarships. Aaron’s dedication and drive didn’t stop there. He received another four BELDON® Family Scholarships during his time at Rush Medical School. In 2015 Aaron graduated with a medical degree and was awarded the United States Public Health Services Award for Excellence in Community Service and the Anthony Schmidt Prize in Anatomical Science.

He has since moved on to his residency training in emergency medicine at Henry Ford Hospital’s Emergency Medicine program, which he will complete in June, 2018. Aaron will also continue to work as the founder and president of Make A Change International, a 501c3 not-for-profit. Make A Change International is a global humanitarian organization that provides medical care and public health education to underserved communities by supporting health care professionals and graduate students on medical service trips throughout the world with the ultimate goal of implementing opportunities to deliver sustainable health care.
