Inspection & Maintenance
Inspection and maintenance are the keys to sustaining your home to keep it functioning properly. If you want to make your gutters last as long as possible, inspect them every spring, every fall and after heavy storms.

Make sure that you inspect your gutters while it is raining! Get your raincoat on, and check for any spots where water is leaking and not flowing through to the end. Leaks can be coming from sections that aren’t properly connected together or from holes where nails and screws used to be but were later taken out.

  • – Splits & Sagging
  • When your gutters split in their sections and start to sag, not only do they look awful, but they are also useless. Rain water won’t be able to flow through and can sometimes cause water damage to your home if the water is not pushed in the right direction.
  • – Rust
  • Rust can form on galvanized steel when water pools up for too long of a time. It can be an indicator that you need a gutter replacement.
  • – Overflow
  • If you feel as though you are always cleaning out your gutters and yet they are still overflowing whenever it rains, they could be constantly clogging because they are damaged. Even though regular gutters are meant to withstand low maintenance for 20-40 years, over time, violent storms can dislodge part of your gutters from their securing holds, or shift them to an angle that there is almost no gravitational pull downwards. This can cause them to build up even the smallest debris that normally flow away with your water.
